sawn english hardwoods

Trees form a very efficient mechanism for removing carbon dioxide from the atmosphere and locking the carbon away in its cellular structure thus forming an essential part of the ecosystem. Trees die, fall over and rot, this releases carbon back into the atmosphere in the form of carbon dioxide or methane. If the tree is looked at over its whole life it achieves very little environmentally. One of the ways we can improve this is to cut the tree down before it starts to rot and make use of the timber. This could avoid the use of fossil fuels and plastics and reduce global warming provided that a tree is re-grown or planted to replace the felled tree.

Astwick forestry services supply sawn english hardwoods to use timber that is grown locally. This locks away the carbon for the life of the timber. The finished product could be used as firewood when it is finished with. This process means that fossil fuels were not needed twice.

Sawn Hardwoods stocked include Ash, Oak, Poplar, Cherry, Beech, Yew etc.

Also burrs are gathered for turning
