Astwick Forestry services can supply any amount of firewood supplied to the customers' specifications. Generally we sell two sizes of loads:-

2 cubic metres delivered and tipped on you driveway £ 70.00

4 cubic metres delivered and tipped on your driveway £ 130.00

(prices may increase with distance of delivery and size of log)

Before ordering logs it is always a good idea to measure the hearth of your fire to ensure the logs will fit

We are also able to supply wood chip for use in woodchip boilers

All firewood supplied is seasoned hardwood including Ash, Beech, Oak, Sycamore, Hornbeam etc. The firewood is sourced locally from sustainable woodland and necessary tree surgery. This cuts down the cost to the environment by limiting the transport distances.

Traditional thinking on burning logs for heat is that it ruins the environment and adds to global warming. However firewood is not a fossil fuel and comprises of carbon molecules recently fixed from the surrounding environment. If these logs are burnt the carbon molecules will be released as carbon dioxide but will not add to the total amount of carbon dioxide in the world. If the tree was not cut down for firewood it would mature, die and eventually rot, thus releasing the carbon it had trapped from the atmosphere. To counter the affects of global warming it is important to re-grow or re-plant tress thus trapping more carbon dioxide that can be used as firewood or timber. Effectively every log burnt to provide heat stops us burning coal, oil or gas which does affect our environment.
