Firewood

Astwick Forestry source firewood from local, sustainably managed woodland,

under Forestry Commission ten year plans.

​

Trees are either coppiced or replanted according to good silvicultural practices.

All loads of firewood are sold loose to avoid the need for plastic packaging

​

No firewood will travel more than 30 miles from where it is grown to where you burn it,

eliminating the need for large transport lorries.

 

Therefore we supply one of the most sustainable sources of firewood in the local area,

with a minimum of carbon release in the process

 

Logs are cut to 10 inches in length and split to approximately 3-5 inches in diameter and the load will contain kindling.

Containing 100% hardwood firewood. A mix of at least 2 of the following :-

Ash, Beech, Maple, Hawthorn, false Acacia, Apple, Plum, Elm, cherry or Sycamore

depending on what’s available at the time of order. For open fires and log burners

FRESH CUT FIREWOOD

 

These logs are freshly cut. They are available only in the spring to enable the more prepared customer to season their own firewood. Logs are cut to 10 inches in length and split to approximately 3-5 inches in diameter. However, they can be cut to your specification if required. Loads contain mostly hardwood with a 20% of softwood to aid lighting. These logs are specifically designed for a log burner only
